It's a perennial somewhere but not in New England where it must be treated as an annual. But boy is it worth it! The deep burgundy foliage and continually blooming reddish purple bottle brush flowers can't be resisted. Dig it in the fall and overwinter in a greenhouse and the 3-4 grower will provide years of beauty. Great for container gardening.
